ShinFitness Basketball Terms and Conditions 2026

1. Program Philosophy

ShinFitness Basketball is a long-term basketball development program. The focus is not only basketball skills, but also discipline, consistency, effort, confidence, attitude, and long-term improvement.

Players are expected to listen, work hard, follow instructions, respect others, and train consistently. For proper development, we strongly recommend players attend at least 3 sessions per week.

Players who attend irregularly may progress more slowly and may fall behind players who train consistently.

2. Trial Session

All new players must complete a trial session before joining as a member. The trial allows ShinFitness Basketball to check the player’s level, attitude, ability to follow instructions, and whether the program is suitable for the player.

A trial session does not guarantee automatic acceptance into the program.

3. Fees

ServiceFee
Trial Session$50
School Term Membership$200 per month
School Holiday Membership$250 per month
Casual Session, if approved$40 per session
Indoor Court Fee$10 per player per indoor session
Private Training, if availableConfirmed separately

If a trial or casual session is held indoors, the additional $10 indoor court fee applies.

4. Indoor Court Fee

Indoor sessions require an additional court fee of $10 per player per indoor session. This fee is separate from trial fees, casual fees, monthly membership, or private training fees.

5. Payment and Membership

Membership fees must be paid in advance or by the agreed due date. A player’s spot is confirmed only after payment has been received.

Membership is not a pay-per-session system. Membership cannot be paused, frozen, skipped, or held without payment.

If payment is stopped or not made on time, the membership may be cancelled and the spot may be offered to another player.

If a player leaves and wishes to return later, re-entry is subject to availability and coach approval. A $200 re-entry fee may apply.

6. Refund Policy

Membership fees are generally non-refundable and non-transferable.

Refunds or credits are not usually provided for:

  • Change of mind
  • Missed sessions
  • Family holidays
  • Personal schedule changes
  • School commitments
  • Other sports commitments
  • Player absence
  • Minor illness or injury
  • Weather cancellation
  • Failure to attend available sessions

However, nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits any rights that may apply under Australian Consumer Law.

7. Schedule and Venue

The weekly schedule is usually sent in advance once court availability is confirmed. Training locations may include Carrara outdoor courts, Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre, Coomera Indoor Sports Centre, or other approved training locations.

The schedule may change due to weather, court availability, venue bookings, school holidays, public holidays, safety reasons, or operational needs. The weekly schedule sent by ShinFitness Basketball is the official schedule.

Parents must confirm attendance at least one day in advance.

8. Weather Policy

Outdoor sessions may be cancelled, moved, shortened, or changed if the weather or court surface is unsafe. This may include rain, wet courts, storms, lightning, extreme heat, or other unsafe conditions.

If an outdoor session is cancelled due to weather, there is generally no refund or credit. Where possible, ShinFitness Basketball may move a session indoors, but indoor court availability is not guaranteed. If the session moves indoors, the $10 indoor court fee applies.

9. Player Behaviour

Players must listen to the coach, follow instructions, respect teammates, respect venues, train with effort, and avoid bullying, arguing, swearing, unsafe behaviour, or disrupting the session.

ShinFitness Basketball may remove a player from a session or program if their behaviour affects safety, training quality, or other players.

10. Parent Behaviour

Parents are expected to communicate respectfully and support the training environment. Parents must not interrupt sessions, argue with coaches, coach from the sideline, or create conflict with other players or parents.

Concerns should be discussed privately and respectfully. Repeated disrespectful communication or behaviour may affect the child’s continued participation.

11. Injury and Medical Conditions

Basketball is a physical sport and involves risk of injury. Parents confirm that their child is medically fit to participate.

Parents must inform ShinFitness Basketball of any injuries, allergies, asthma, medical conditions, medication needs, or important health information before training.

If a player is injured or unwell, parents should not send the player to training unless it is safe. In an emergency, ShinFitness Basketball may contact parents, provide basic first aid, call an ambulance, or seek medical help if necessary.

Parents are responsible for any medical or ambulance costs.

12. What Players Must Bring

  • Their own basketball
  • Water bottle
  • Towel
  • Suitable basketball shoes
  • Training clothes
  • T-shirt to change after training
  • Sun protection for outdoor sessions
  • Any required medical items

13. Photos and Videos

ShinFitness Basketball may take photos and videos during training for coaching, feedback, website, social media, promotion, and program updates.

By joining the program, parents give permission for ShinFitness Basketball to use photos and videos of the player for these purposes.

Parents must not record or post other children without permission. If you have concerns about photo or video use, please inform ShinFitness Basketball in writing before joining.

14. Child Safety

ShinFitness Basketball aims to provide a safe, respectful, and disciplined training environment for children.

Any concerns about child safety, bullying, inappropriate behaviour, or unsafe conduct should be reported to ShinFitness Basketball as soon as possible.

15. Agreement

By booking a trial session, joining, or continuing training with ShinFitness Basketball, parents confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
